Building your programme
Everything I learned moving from a 60-hour teaching week to a calm, profitable tuition business, in one short book.
Ellie BakerFounder, The Business of TutoringAre you tutoring online and feeling a little stuck? Perhaps you’re not attracting enough of the right students, or your diary is full of the wrong ones.
You may have heard marketing experts insist you need to be everywhere on social media. For many teachers that feels uncomfortable, and it doesn’t have to be that way. There’s a way forward that suits your personality, so you can attract the right students in a way that feels natural.
Where the 2 Hour Tutor method came from
I went from a 60-hour teaching week to running my own education businesses and coaching teachers and tutors. Since 2018, I’ve helped teachers build tuition businesses that can replace their teaching salary while teaching far fewer hours. Everything I learned along the way went into my book, The 2 Hour Tutor.
What the book covers
- The limits of 1:1 tuition: the constant cycle of planning, feedback and hours that can quietly wear you down.
- One structured group programme: moving from pay-as-you-go lessons to a clear pathway, so you become the go-to expert in one area.
- Pricing for the outcome: you can charge properly while families often pay less overall than ongoing 1:1, because students progress faster.
- Selling the transformation: parents aren’t buying hours. They’re investing in their child’s progress and confidence.
Asking for help is a strength
As teachers, many of us were taught that asking for help is a weakness. In reality, recognising what isn’t working and getting support is one of the most empowering things you can do. Investing in yourself isn’t selfish. It’s an investment in your family’s future.
