2. Who these terms are for
Our programmes, products and services (“Services”) are designed for tutors and teachers who are running, or setting up, their own tutoring business. By placing an order, you confirm that:
- you are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract
- you live in the United Kingdom, unless we have agreed otherwise in advance
- you are buying for the purposes of your tutoring business, whether that business is already running or you are getting it started
- all materials are for your own use in your business, and you will not copy, resell, redistribute, publish or commercially exploit them
If you are buying as a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
3. How the contract is formed
Your contract with us is formed when your payment is accepted and you receive confirmation of your purchase. Access to digital content is normally given straight away.
4. Our products
These terms cover two kinds of product:
- Coached programmes: The 2 Hour Tutor Programme (Silver) and The 2 Hour Tutor Programme: Gold. These include live coaching with our team as well as the programme materials in our app.
- Digital-only products and one-off services: everything else, including the Nail Your Niche Planner, the Group Tuition Toolkit, 2HT Lite and the 2HT Lite membership, The 2 Hour Tutor extended membership, free resources such as the Group Tuition Guide and the training in our app, the Business Breakthrough Audit, the audit follow-up call and individually booked 1:1 sessions.
What is included in each product is set out on its sales page and in your order confirmation.
5. Cancellation, refunds and our guarantee
Digital-only products
Digital-only products are delivered instantly. When you buy one, you ask us to give you immediate access and you agree that, once access has started, you lose any right to cancel. Refunds are not available once access has been given, except where the content is materially defective, access is not delivered, or the law requires a refund.
One-off services
One-off services, such as the Business Breakthrough Audit, the audit follow-up call and individually booked 1:1 sessions, cannot be refunded once they have been delivered.
Coached programmes: our Love It or Leave It guarantee
Our Love It or Leave It guarantee applies to The 2 Hour Tutor Programme (Silver) and The 2 Hour Tutor Programme: Gold only.
If you decide the programme isn’t right for you, email 2ht@businessoftutoring.com within 14 days of your first live call with us (your kick-off call). To use the guarantee, you need to show that you have engaged with the programme by:
- attending your kick-off call
- completing the first two modules
- starting the third module
If those conditions are met, we’ll refund you as follows.
Silver: we keep the first month’s payment (one-sixth of the programme fee). If you paid in full, we’ll refund the rest. If you’re paying monthly, we’ll refund anything you’ve paid beyond the first month and cancel your remaining monthly payments.
Gold: we keep one month’s payment, plus the value of any Gold 1:1 sessions or tech hours you’ve already used. If you paid in full, we’ll refund the rest. If you’re paying monthly, we’ll cancel your remaining monthly payments.
Once the guarantee has been used, your access to the programme, its live sessions and our client community ends.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are made to the original payment method only. There are no refunds on any product other than as set out in this section.
6. Monthly payment option
Some of our programmes are priced as a monthly fee for a fixed number of months, with a discount if you choose to pay the full amount in one payment. The monthly fee, the number of months and the pay-in-full price are shown at checkout. If you choose to pay monthly:
- you are agreeing to pay every monthly payment for the number of months shown at checkout
- all monthly payments are due, whether or not you use the programme, and they continue during any pause
- if a monthly payment is missed, we may suspend your access until it is paid
- no refunds are given for partial completion, except under our guarantee
If monthly payments remain unpaid, we may take steps to recover the balance, including through a debt recovery service.
7. Memberships and monthly renewals
Some Services are paid monthly on a rolling basis, such as The 2 Hour Tutor extended membership and the 2HT Lite membership. These renew automatically each month until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time by emailing 2ht@businessoftutoring.com or through your account. Cancelling stops future payments only.
- No refunds are given for time already paid for.
We may suspend or end a membership for a breach of these terms, misuse or non-payment.
8. Pausing your programme
Pauses apply to The 2 Hour Tutor Programme (Silver) and The 2 Hour Tutor Programme: Gold only.
If something significant happens during your programme, such as a bereavement, moving house or an unexpected illness, you can ask us to pause your live support by emailing 2ht@businessoftutoring.com.
Pauses are granted entirely at our discretion. Where we agree, a pause is normally for up to one month, and your live support end date moves back by the length of the pause. Pauses of more than one month are exceptional.
Each request is considered on its own circumstances. A pause granted to another client, of any length, does not create a right or expectation of the same for you, and does not set a precedent for future requests.
During a pause:
- your monthly payments continue as normal, and payments cannot be paused
- your access to the modules in our app is not extended
9. Access to the app and materials
All our digital programmes and products come with at least 12 months’ access to the materials in our app from your purchase date. We may, at our discretion, let you keep access for longer, and you can ask us to remove your account at any time.
We may move our materials to a different platform. If we do, we’ll give you access there for the rest of your access period.
If we stop trading, we may end access to our app and materials. We’ll give you as much notice as we reasonably can.
10. Live calls and recordings
Live group calls on our coached programmes may be recorded. By joining The 2 Hour Tutor Programme (Silver) or The 2 Hour Tutor Programme: Gold, you agree that you may appear in these recordings, and that they can be watched by other Silver and Gold members.
- Recordings are made by the coach only. Members must not record any call.
- Recordings and call notes are kept in our secure, logged-in client area, and only members can see them.
- Recordings are kept for six months and then deleted.
11. How we deliver the programmes
- We’ll deliver the Services with reasonable care and skill, as described on the sales page.
- We may make reasonable changes to the format, content or timing of the Services. Where possible, we’ll give you at least 24 hours’ notice of changes to live sessions.
- School holidays, illness and unforeseen events may affect delivery.
- Where a delay is caused by something you have done or not done, the time we have to deliver is extended accordingly.
12. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- take part in the programme and engage with the Services
- give us accurate information
- treat our team and other clients with respect
- give us at least 24 hours’ written notice if you need to change a booked 1:1 appointment
- take responsibility for your own wellbeing, and seek medical or professional support when you need it
Missed sessions, or sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, are forfeited and not refunded.
13. Our client community
Our online client community (forum) is hosted on Slack. When you take part:
- keep what other clients share confidential, both in the community and on group calls
- don’t post advertising, harassment, impersonation or unlawful content, and make sure your posts follow UK law
- we moderate the community but have no duty to monitor everything that is posted
- we may remove content and suspend or remove members at our discretion
- breaking these rules may lead to suspension, removal or legal action
14. Client stories and testimonials
If you leave us a public review or testimonial, for example on Google, LinkedIn or Facebook, or send one to us for that purpose, you agree that we may share it, including as a screenshot, on our website and in our marketing.
We will always ask your permission before sharing anything you post inside the programme, such as in our client community or on calls. If you’d like us to stop using your testimonial, email 2ht@businessoftutoring.com and we’ll remove it from future marketing.
15. Access and technical responsibility
You are responsible for having suitable internet access, compatible devices and software, and for keeping your login details secure. We are not responsible for access problems caused by device failure, internet disruption, firewalls, VPNs, browser restrictions or outages on third-party platforms.
Login details must not be shared.
16. Intellectual property
All our materials are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights, and they remain ours. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them in your own business. You must not:
- share your access
- distribute our materials
- record sessions
- repurpose our content
- sell work derived from it
A breach may lead to your access ending immediately without a refund, and to legal action.
17. Prices and VAT
All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). Our programme prices are shown with VAT added (“+ VAT”); other prices include VAT. Prices may change, but changes won’t affect an order that has already been confirmed.
For business customers, late payments may incur statutory interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate. Payments must be made in full, without set-off or deduction.
18. Coaching and educational disclaimer
Our Services are coaching and education. We don’t guarantee financial results, business growth, exam success or any particular income or outcome. Your results depend on your own decisions and actions.
You remain responsible for your decisions, how you put what you learn into practice, and for meeting your own legal and professional obligations. Our Services are not legal, financial, tax, regulatory, medical, psychotherapy or counselling advice, and we are not regulated healthcare or financial professionals.
Sharing our experience. Where our Services touch on legal, tax, data protection, insurance or other regulatory matters (including contracts, terms and conditions, privacy policies and setting up your business), we are sharing our own experience as business owners for general educational purposes. This is not professional advice and should not be relied on as such. Any templates, examples, suggested resources or providers (including our own policies, and anything drafted with AI tools such as Claude) are illustrations only. Which documents, providers and arrangements you choose for your business is your decision and your responsibility, and we are not responsible for any claim, loss or dispute arising from your own legal documents or business arrangements. We recommend you take independent professional advice before relying on them.
19. Our liability
Our maximum liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service concerned. We are not liable for loss of income, business interruption, loss of data, or any indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
20. Your information
We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We use your personal information as described in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. We never sell personal data. Both you and we will keep each other’s confidential information confidential, unless the law requires otherwise.
21. Ending the agreement
- Either of us may end the agreement if the other seriously breaks these terms.
- We may end the agreement straight away if payment is not made.
- If you end the agreement early, any remaining balance is still payable, and all outstanding amounts become due immediately.
22. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with anything, we’d like to put it right. Please email 2ht@businessoftutoring.com with “Complaint” in the subject line, and tell us what happened and what you’d like us to do.
- We’ll respond within 3 to 7 working days.
- If we need longer to look into it fully, we’ll tell you why and when to expect our full answer.
- If you’re not happy with our response, you can ask for it to be reviewed by our founder.
23. General
- Communications: we’ll contact you by email or through our website. These count as being “in writing”.
- Transfer: you may not transfer your rights under this agreement without our consent. We may transfer or subcontract our obligations where necessary.
- Events outside our control: we are not liable for delay or failure caused by things beyond our reasonable control, including illness, platform failure, cyber incidents, disruption to third-party systems, extreme weather or government restrictions.
- Severability: if any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the rest continues in full force.
- Entire agreement: these terms, together with your order confirmation and our privacy policy, are the whole agreement between us and replace anything discussed before. You have not relied on anything that is not written in them.
- Third parties: no one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.
- Changes: we may update these terms from time to time. The version in force on the date of your purchase applies to that purchase.
24. Law and courts
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
